This page accrues supplementary ressources for the site or simply content and services I use. We are usually ripe with choice, especially around technology, but few are of satisfactory quality. This is a small sample that I will update over time.

If you are interested in photography and want to go above what smartphones can offer, Kenrockwell.com is an amazing website I frequently use to obtain an unbiased view on bodies and lenses. He grants a lot of attention to image sharpness and image quality, and his reviews are devoid of platitudes, padding or awkward excuses for obvious shortcomings. A true gem.

It's hard to find quality news reporting today. Mainstream media do a pathetic job discussing and challenging technological products, events and companies, because even today the world sees technology as some kind of dark and undecipherable magic. Those that know what most of the acronyms mean are employed to spout unsubstantiated clickbait for 10$/article. Others take it to YouTube and churn inflammatory videos with thumbnails of them wasting thousands for, er, reasons, or them looking terminally sick of food poisoning.

You must avoid generalist tech news sites like Digital Trends or ZDNet, perverted sites like XDA, or company-centric sites like Sammobile. They mostly serve poorly documented stories that will answer few, if any questions.

Aim to consult sites that have a narrow field of interest, but not too overly so. I like The Register, as they aim to serve an audience of professionals in the IT industry. Their readership is more critical and knowledgeable, and they know this very well. Anandtech publishes few articles and reviews per week but do an excellent job investigating and detailing the latest in PC technology.

It's hard to find Canadian tech news, and even harder to find good analysis of said news. The closest to this ideal has been PC Mag. Mobilesyrup and iPhoneInCanada are awful generalist mobile tech sites.

GSMArena's mobile database is an excellent tool to conveniently compare smartphones' specifications.
